Zinc plays a very critical role and function in all organisms. Its deficiency can cause a serious issue. In , the ZRT/IRT transporter-like proteins play a role in the zinc metal uptake and transport. Few OsZIPs genes have been validated and characterized for their biological functions and most of OsZIPs are not well physiologically, biochemically and phenotypically characterized.
